Danube Day 2014

Danube Day 2014

Close to where the Morava flows into the mighty Danube, come and celebrate 20 years of international river cooperation on Saturday 21st of June (10:00-14:00). Devin, north-west of Bratislava, is the venue for this year's Danube Day organised by Vodohospodarska vystavba and the Ministry of the Environment.

Roman Bombos, radio and TV personality, will introduce a packed programme of fun events both on and about the Danube. Come along for free boat trips (at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00), kayaking, dance performances, river rescue and first aid demos, electric car trials, creative competitions and the chance to meet the stars of the show: sturgeon. For the very young, they’ll be games, face-painting, art activities and a photo shoot with a water sprite!

The competition to find Slovakia’s young Danube Art Master reaches its climax at the Devin Danube Day celebration, with the announcement of national winners. This 14-country youth competition invites you to get creative and make a piece of 3D art to illustrate what your river means to you.
